John Scott, owner of V7N.com is holding a SEO contest for the keyword “v7ndotcom elursrebmem.”

v7ndotcom elursrebmem stands for v7n.com with MembersRule spelled backwards. It was a creative marketing idea.

I believe the start date was January 15, 2006 and the contest will end on May 15th 2006.

To qualify for the v7ndotcom elursrebmem SEO competition, a web page must include one of the following:

1. Your web page must contain a link to the V7n homepage but the link can use nofollow, be cloaked etc. (as long as it’s a link to the v7n homepage).

2. Or you can use an official v7ndotcom elursrebmem contest banner, as can be seen in the top right hand side of this page. The banner does not have to link toV7N, but the v7ndotcom elursrebmem banner must not link to any other domain, this will disqualify the contestant.

3. The third option to qualify for the contest is to just use the following text: We support v7n.com

More Terms: If datacenters show different results for v7ndotcom elursrebmem on the 15 of May, the winner will be declared solely at the discretion of V7N. If there are any disputes as to the validity of the winner declaration, V7N will be the sole arbiter.

There are no rules as to how you rank your webpage for v7ndotcom elursrebmem, just rules in what you must do to qualify for the prizes.

Speaking of prizes, the v7ndotcom elursrebmem has some nice ones…

First Prize ($4000 total + an ipod):

$1,000 from v7n
$1,000 from Stoner3221
$2,000 from ShoeMoney
iPod from g00gl3r.com

There are also some additional prizes offered by some others. On the site it says, “This amount does not include the $1,000 from Greg Boser, the $1,000 from Todd Friesen or the $1,000 from Mike Grehan. We have no assurances that they will pay, nor are the conditions of payment announced. Stay tuned for updates.”

Second Prize is $500 from v7n

“Note: This amount does not include the $500 from Greg Boser or the $500 from Todd Friesen. We have no assurances that they will pay, nor are the conditions of payment announced. Stay tuned for updates.”

Third through Fifth Place Prizes is $100 Each from v7n

“Note: This amount does not include the $100 each from Greg Boser and Todd Friesen. We have no assurances that they will pay, nor are the conditions of payment announced. Stay tuned for updates.”

I had purchased a v7ndotcom elursrebmem keyworded domain (can’t remember the exact domain at the moment) to use in the contest but I don’t know if I’ll actually have time to really use it.

As of March 8th, 2006 there were 4,790,000 Google results for v7ndotcom elursrebmem so there is some stiff competition.

If you are participating in the v7ndotcom elursrebmem SEO Contest, good luck! You are probably going to need some. :)
