Google Base found at http://base.google.com/ is now being integrated into the Google search results.

Google Base is a place to submit all types of online and offline content that [google] will host and make searchable online. You can describe any item you post with attributes, which will help people find it when they search Google Base. In fact, based on the relevance of your items, they may also be included in the main Google search index & other Google products like Froogle, Google Base and Google Local.

Google Base is only integrated into the search results for certain keywords at the moment. It shows Google Base integrated when I do a search for “Orlando Homes. It does not show up for just “Homes.” Another example: When I do a search for “cars” on Google, this is what I see (I added the big black arrow):

Google Base integrated into search results

Clicking “Search Vehicles” will jump you on over to the Google Base results. It also shows up for cars names.

It looks like it might be a good time to start learning about optimizing Google Base listings.

Interesting. I hadn’t noticed that before in any of my searches, but I’m not always the most observant person on the planet at times.

It will certainly be worth leanring more about Base, what’s the best way to include things and how to optimize them so they show up.

I’ve also seen all sorts of rumors speculating that Base will be Google’s answer to Craig’s List or Ebay. Will definitely be interesting to see where they take it. Might as well start learning more about it now.
